City

The cross IVM approaches and cultures in the context of their research and actions on the ground: a new way of doing that favors encounters between people and sensitize public opinion, in particular through the organization of events and public dissemination of information (brochures, website, etc.). These practices seek to stimulate thinking about new ways to move and lead our societies to question the movement in the city, opening new perspectives to find solutions.

The IVM define their strategies for working with the Scientific Council and guidance, choose their fields of experimentation and action, integrating the institutions that are associated with development and is independent teams around project managers selected from different professional backgrounds. The selection criteria of IVM meet three requirements. Relevance: the problem chosen should be linked to specific and topical issues and enable the participation of partners. Excellence: the teams meet recognized experts on the subject. The difference in their research and experimentation, the Institute must provide a statement or a specific innovation.
A think-tank without taboos
Another feature of the IVM is its Scientific Council and Guidance. Original space for reflection, inspiration project, is also the guarantor of the scientific and ethical actions that are undertaken. This think-tank of the city on the move brings together two dozen French and international personalities, representing different professional horizons but with a common denominator: direct contact with the realities of the city. There are also unpublished research programs, innovative field actions, projects that the French view is mixed with other perspectives, public-private partnerships and multidisciplinary teams.
