SECTOR CONSTRUCCIÓN ¿PROBLEMA?

would like to share some information that might help to have a possible debate on the subject. The construction sector participation in the total gross added value has recovered to 1998 levels, growth in the first decade of the new century has brought back to previous levels. Would have to ask if there is a qualitative leap in this recovery as opposed to the 90's.

probably this means we are not against a reliance on construction activity. Each new sun produced, 6 cents is produced by the construction. The possibility of non-dependence can be seen even with labor force participation is given to normal rhythms.

Urban in Peru, in 2004 5.4% of the economically active population was employed in construction. This figure has increased slightly to 6.2% in 2009. Is it enough to say that the construction has grown in participation to make it dependent on the economy? Apparently not.

The MTPE estimated average employment-output elasticity of 2.0 in the period 2003 - 2008 which would mean a diffusion effect in the construction under which we may demonstrate how this increase in VA was not associated with a high increase in employment in the economy in recent years. While the level of employment depends on many factors, but this is a sign.

The construction sector's performance and the total GDP is shown below. The variability of total GDP is higher than the sector. This has nothing strange, GDP has constraints on their behavior more volatile.

think the concern dependence of the national economy are not on the side of the building but the primary-export nature of the economy. The year 2009 has clearly noticed how the external shock of depressed global demand for raw materials suitable for braking of the economy quite dramatically. Unlike other economies barely grew at rates below 4%, how an economy growing at 8% levels slowed to a level of 0%? If you can see, the construction does not afectómucho, but as production stagnated. She is recovering, but is it sustainable?

¿Y LA PRODUCTIVIDAD?

In CADE has presented a table of per capita GDP growth for decades, to show exceptional growth over the last decade, which would show that we are in a different stage, to take us to the first world.

But being consistent with the economy and social science that requires a historical analysis to settle better on stage in which such growth occurs, one must ask what conclusions we draw when we present the following table, where the analysis is about making long-term?

First we note that between 1951 and 1970 there has been a similar increase to that recorded between 1991 and 2010. How do they differ both in terms of competitiveness was the subject of CADE? What are the trends of each period?

A lover of the details certainly have to ask noting that if the growth rate year after year was not stable in the first period compared to the third period. However, the coefficient of variation in growth rates between 1951 - 1970 was 0.50, that of 1971 to 1990 of 4.62 and 1991 to 2010 of 0.87. This indicates the similarity in the dispersion in growth rates between the first and third period, including a greater instability in the latter due to the volatility of the 90s.

But talk policy similarity. It is known that the economy in the period 1951 - 1970 was driven by a liberal, while the period 1971 - 1990 by growing protectionism, returning to a liberal stage (neoliberal) in the 90s. The two periods of continuous growth have been with clear policies to promote the exploitation of resources with little attempt to promote productive activity or state or private. Thus the first period was clearly oriented towards foreign investment, a fact that generated that most activities are foreign-owned, but in the second half began the period of import substitution industrialization.

In the third period, in a similar way, the primary export orientation of the economy has made as we saw in a previous article, the country's economic structure since 1990 has not changed in terms of participation of extractive and transformative industries. Therefore we hypothesized that like the first period, investment in manufacturing infrastructure, the inability to link natural resource investment to domestic markets, technological research, etc.. seem to be again the new obstacle to the growth mainly depends on global demand for raw materials.

why we continue to criticize pop internationalists (such as Krugman writes), who speak as if the states competitiveness of firms or corporations try, they often forget the consensus of the economics around a basic tenet of economics: the productivity necessary for sustained economic growth. Appeal to competitiveness as if this variable would be a variable itself is not dependent on what A. Smith saw as the main factor for increasing wealth creation. This is a convention among policymakers.

But what we do to improve productivity levels? The answers have not yet consensus. But the discussion should turn to it. A CADE to analyze the productivity would be nice.

excursion path of Prehispanic Huacas

Hello friends, this Sunday we were visiting and touring the Valley Lurin river, but precisely the lower valley as this river rises at some distance in our mountains, clear waters bringing from the melting of Pariacaca and the Cordillera Central and creating life in its path. Unfortunately on this occasion we saw no water, dry, and am sorry to note what is happening to our planet in relation to global climate change. De Similarly we could appreciate and enjoy the benefits of the valley last green surrounding our Lima, walking a good way dedicated to cyclists mountain and also the trekeros, running around for 3 hours, observing in and vegetation around the area, with many trees and Pacay variety of birds such as hummingbirds, doves and parakeets we are happy with their songs and chants. Also we saw the passage of civilizations who settled in the valley for a long time ago. No doubt the climb to Mt P an Sugar was crowned as the activity and finish with our energy reserves, so if you want more for us to reach and retrieve Pachacamac with lunch on site. The group's enthusiasm was evident, eager to enjoy the day and nature. Walking is an activity that not only gives us an opportunity to make a good exercise also gives us peace of mind and fills us with energy for continue with the day to day activities. In fact, the Valley of Lurin allows us to perform many rewarding activities for body and soul, not only walks, also observing wildlife, archaeological studies, photography, cycling, karting, paragliding, horse riding in step and a pleasant visit to the picturesque town of Pachacamac, a piece of nearby province of Lima, many reasons for repeat visits will be up .... next time ... thanks guys ¡¡¡...
