PROGRAM: Landscape Reserve NOR

Yauyos-Car-EASTER 2010

(Huancayo, VILCA, VITIS, Y MIRAFLORES)

salient aspects of the route

In the southeastern department of Lima is the province Yauyos, it has 33 districts. Among them stand Vilca Huancaya and its annex, for many the most beautiful places around the apartment, and one of the most scenic areas of Peru. Among the 16 kilometers separating Huancaya Vilca, are an endless series of waterfalls, forests and lakes, the latter lower as locks formed by small waterfalls whitewater amazing contrast with the green color of the lakes. Huallhua highlights, and Huascacocha Huarimarca. At the top of the lagoon is Vilca Papacocha which is an impressive drop of water whose rocks are covered with large areas of moss green farmland and framed by a forest of quishuar, chachacoma and queñuales.

Go to these people, it requires at least 3 to 4 full days. The trip takes about 8 hours on average, running first in the American South to Cañete. From there take the road amounting Yauyos to the province. This road was recently paved almost inits entirety as an alternative to get to Huancayo and Jauja without having to use the Central Highway.

Highway

Until 3 years and NorYauyos Huancaya route was one that required considerable effort by both carriers as travelers, it amounted to a path of land involving 14 hours of experiencing abuse to the body. 3 years ago began to pave the path to make it an alternative to Central Road. It is a super road but to travel with more comfort and that if, taking into account the caution when driving on a track rather narrow and winding, as it rises from Cañete up to 3400 m altitude where it is Huancaya. Thus, today's trip has been reduced to 8 hours to Huancaya, being paved until Jauja through the villages of Alison and Thomas, an hour before Huancaya.

The lodgings.

The inhabitants of the villages in the reserve have turned their small homes in shelters, a bit rustic, not so comfortable, but filled hospitality by their owners, who strive to make visitors feel good and make our visit a very experiential. The rooms are shared and it is usual to find rooms on three, four and eight beds. is hard to find rooms with two beds, double and even less individual. The bathrooms and toilets are shared.

Food

shelters also work in many restaurants and canteens. The prepared foods are made from trout (abundant in area) beef, cheese, potatoes, corn and other agricultural products. They also prepare cuy, pachamanca and alpaca meat stews (the raise on high). In all these towns there grocery warehouses where we found food and sundries, especially in Huancayo, which is the largest population of the Reserve. visit these towns do not require much preparation or special equipment, unless you go to camping. Then, in the shelters is on comfort, warmth, food and above all hospitable reception of the locals who will make us a unique experience. Yes, it is important to good health, as we will to some height above sea level. And we made a group trip, you must have an adventurous spirit, tolerance and openness toward others and eager to enjoy nature.
